What Tech does well

  • Skills formatted like code, each category followed by its items in quotes and square brackets
  • Contact details as key: value pairs in a monospace font
  • Projects with a link tag and a row of technology chips
  • Summary in a grey panel headed // About
  • Blue accents in the manner of a code editor, with grades in green

Content
Written for the posting you paste in

Upload your CV and paste a job posting. The Studio writes the content for that role, scores it against the posting, and lays it out in Tech.

How Tech is laid out

Tech mixes two typefaces in one A4 column: a monospace for labels, dates, contact details and skills, and a sans-serif for your name, headings and bullet points. Your first and last name are joined by a blue underscore, the summary sits in a grey box marked // About and each section heading is wrapped in curly braces; roles appear as title @ company, with a grey line down the left of each and blue chevrons as bullets.

Who it suits

  • Software, data and DevOps engineers applying to engineering teams
  • Start-ups and developer-tool companies, where the code styling will be recognised
  • Candidates with side projects or open-source work, which get links and technology chips
  • Engineers who group their skills by language, framework and tool

Good to know

  • Your name prints as First_Last, and the underscore stays in when software extracts the text, so an applicant tracking system may read your name as one word.
  • Braces, brackets and quotation marks are real characters in the text. For portals run by large employers, Awesome or Deedy give a cleaner technical look with conventional headings.
  • Projects show a short description and technology chips rather than bullet points.
